Art For A Cause Ends Year On A High Note

December is the season of giving and amidst a worldwide pandemic and local disasters, the Philippine Art community came together to participate in the Leon Gallery x ArtPH’s ART AID: The Art Ph Online Auction held in the afternoon of December 12, 2020. Art lovers bid for the works of over 40 seasoned, young and rising contemporary artists.  Art collectors also donated artworks for the online auction. Setting a world record was Emmanuel Garribay’s work “Emmaus” which sold for PhP 3 Million. Other top sellers were art pieces from Elmer Borlongan, Jose John Santos III and Mark Justiniani.

ART AID: The Art Ph Online Auction is the launching activity of the ART PH website spearheaded by Julius and Christine Babao, Lori Jurvida and Chinkee Tan. At the end of the charity auction, total sales reached PhP 9.3 Million - a promising start for ART PH’s maiden activity. What makes the event even more memorable is that proceeds from the online auction will be used to build a permanent evacuation center in Alcala, Cagayan where residents can seek refuge during natural calamities. Part of the online auction proceeds will also benefit orphaned infants and babies at the Cribs Foundation.  The success of the fundraising project was made possible with the all out support of Leon Gallery Auctions.
